Hoffman 2011 Sneak Peak

It's no secret, we're massive fans of Hoffman here - Mat rules and the products are awesome.

To set the record straight; Hoffman Bikes is entirely rider owned and run - no big corporate parent company pulling the strings - just Mat with Mark Owen and his team.

Without Mat, I don't think BMX would be the same today - the tricks, the products and the lifestyle have been heavily influenced by Hoffman. I doubt there is a rider out there that hasn't taken a little piece of this influence whether they know it or not.

Anyhow, buying Hoffman stuff is supporting one of the greatest riders and greatest BMX brands in the world. So in the words of Nike - just do it.

It's about time Jon got some real recognition as one of the greats of BMX, not just for his riding (which is still on it!), but also his promotion of the sport.

Manager of the Vans team, Hoffman UK team and loads of other commitments - I still don't know how he has time for his job at Seventies.

He's also one of the nicest blokes in BMX - always has time for chat and has been a massive help with his support of RADBMX Shop.

Hub Festival.

This weekend we went away with the Zeal Distro crew to Hub.
What a sick weekend
went to ride harrow with james and bakos me and isaac on the friday
then headed to standards larry lomoety where me and isaac camped out in a tent in the garden with a bunch of manchesters top scallys
Woke up on the saturday morning to rain
so we headed to rampworx for the whole day
we ended up having a sick sesion apart from bombhead (paul ryan) and me having a full on head on head crash haha
then after that we headed back to larrys to parrty
ended up being a real good night again
with hop bars going on in the kitchen and people going down
oh and bruza got hit by a girl with a brick and then him and larry got chased after with a macheti.... good times ...
On the sunday we headed over to the comp at hub where i met up with dennis and paul
was cool to see them again
then the comp kicked off with sam ward going full on at everything
was soo good to see
then it was me bakos meat and isaac in the same group
was so much fun
bakos was sending it...
we all had a real good ride
good enough for isaac to come home with 1st place and £1000 more in the bank :)
just want to say thanks to hitchcox for taking us all away on another good weekend

WEDS 13 JAN 10 - SEVERE WEATHER - SHOP CLOSE

So, so sorry, but we can't get in to open the shop today. Loads of snow has fallen and is still coming down, so we've taken the decision to shut as driving conditions are lethal.

I had to take my wife into the local school she teaches at today and cars were spinning all over the place with lots of roads blocked already by cars not being able to go anywhere...so my advice would be to stay in, keep warm and wait for another day.

The good news is that we've had loads of new items in the store, the latest stuff from Fly and Odyssey - together with some top ups of Proper gear...we're bursting with NEW goodies!

Come and have a look as soon as we re-open, it'll be worth it!!

SAT 9 DEC - WE ARE OPEN!

Managed to dig the car out of the snow yesterday, and the expected snow didn't fall last night, so we're good to go! THE SHOP IS OPEN AGAIN!

I can't wait to get back now and apparently couriers will be running again on Monday, so things (hopefully) will get back to normal.

We are expecting a BIG Odyssey, Fly & Proper delivery on Monday, so those who are waiting for the latest JC plastic pedals, Fly 2010 range and Twisted Root Beer/Ocean Blue/Sea Green pedals - the wait is over!

SHOP CLOSED - SEVERE WEATHER - TUE 6 JAN

Woke up this morning to over 10" of snow, so the shop is most definately closed today as it's just not worth the risk of trying to get in for either the staff or our customers.

Enjoy the snow today, don't try and travel anywhere unless you really have too. Stay safe.

WED 23 DEC - THE SHOP IS OPEN

Okay, it looks like I'll be able to get through to the shop today! We'll be open from 9am til 2.30pm - so get yourself down to the shop for those last-minute gifts!

So sorry for any delays with deliveries, we dispatched everything before the snow set in, but the couriers were then stopped in their tracks by the huge amount of snow we had. It was impossible for the lorries to get through.

Over 2000 cars were abandoned in High Wycombe on Monday night and even John Lewis allowed customers stranded at the store to bed down for the night, making up beds and letting the kids run riot in the toy dept! Brilliant. I wish I had gone there instead of trying to sleep at the shop on a cold floor!

Okay, the Christmas Cheer is officially back. See you the other side!

Weather Update

Well...the sun is shining and the snow is melting...we've still got about 12 inches deep outside the house and my wifes car is completely cocooned in snow! Never seen it like this before in the UK.

If there is no more snow, I'll be opening the shop at 9.30am tomorrow (wednesday) and plan to close at 2pm so as not to get stuck again so close to Christmas.

Sorry for any inconvienience, but having had an accident in the snow before, I really don't want to risk it.

Braved the weather...

...gave up trying to sleep at the shop last night, despite the heating being on full blast as soon as I laid down on the floor it was freezing!

So, after keeping an eye on the traffic cams I decided just past midnight to tackle the 18 miles home. Even with a 4x4 I could barely get out of Basepoint, but eventually made it home by 2.15am, much to the relief of my family.

The number of abandonned cars was unbelivable, it was like threading through a post-war zone, very strange.

Anyhow, safely at home and not going back in to open the shop today...it's just too dangerous.

I will try to open the shop tomorrow for a brief time, please keep an eye on the website and blog if you are wanting to pick anything up...as the Highways Agency is expecting another 12cm today.

I'm really hoping that everything we sent out gets to our customers, I would hate the weather to hold things up. But as long as everyone is safe at home and with loved ones, does it really matter?

In the words of the Home Office; Keep Calm. Carry on.

SNOWED IN! ARRRRGGGHHHHH!

The heavens opened and down came the snow. Dan went home at lunchtime, but I held on as we had a customer wanting to pick up a bike. Anyhow, gave up at 3.00pm, locked up the shop and headed for home...it then took 2 hours to get to the end of the road. Total Gridlock. So, I turned around and I'm back at the shop.

So, I've just made myself a little bed behind the counter in the shop and am staying here.

Just two bikes outstanding for customers to pick up this side of Christmas...but if I get home tomorrow, I doubt I'll get back again! Oh, bugger.

Good news is we managed to get all the late WTP Justice and GT Zones out to customers today - I just hope the courier got out of the estate before the gridlock happened.

Anyhow, sleep tight. Damn weather.

Man, it's been a while since I updated the Blog! So much has gone on in the last month...

The Worlds in Cologne were awesome, despite the rain. RADBMX Shop Team Rider Paul Meacher grabbed 10th in the Pro Vert, banging out some mahoosive airs in proper vert style. Disappointed that the judges placed Daniel Dhers above him...I always thought vert was about height and style, not a mini-ramp run 3-foot above the coping? Not being bitter, just stating a fact. The original 'body bag' Denis Wingham (also riding for RADBMX Shop) made a competition comeback on Pro Vert, coming a respectable 14th...amazing when you think he is in his 40s! A legend in our time Denis was the first guy EVER to do a front flip in competition in the world - it's a real pleasure having him on the team.

Billy Purcell was entered in Pro Street, but never got to ride as the rain stopped the whole section being run. A real shame as the course was the best I'd seen anywhere this side of the Atlantic. Ah, well. He made up for it by partying hard.

Highlights for me were watching Bestwick ride vert and Neopolitan on the dirt. A real treat.

The 1986 Haro Freestyle team display was brilliant. It stopped the Pro Mini-ramp qualifying in it's tracks. Wilkerson, Blyther, Dominquez and Nourie entertained the crowed with some classic old school moves including an up and over 540. I've got some great pics to share, but haven't got round to sorting them out yet. Time just races on.

Great to see so many RADBMX members out there and also to meet some of our German customers - it really was great to put faces to names.

The weekend after the Worlds was our own event - RADBMX MK09, a summer festival of BMX. Over 1000 people attended the weekend at Milton Keynes BMX Track. It was a blast with everything from a full race schedule, to film festival, camping, jump comp, bunny hop comp, old school show n shine and so much more. A BIG thanks go out to all our sponsors; DC, SE, Redline, Lightning Fast, JT71, Different Path, Esemdesign, SBD, Delcals...we couldn't do it without you.

The shop continues to grow, bringing the secret plans even closer! ;o) BIG BIG thank you to all our customers for their continued support.

So we did something a little different and worked with KHE to produce this new Deluxe seat and post combination: the aluminium post permanently secures into the seat base (it'll never move) and the Kevlar upper is both light and durable, so the final weight is minimal. Plus, with its comfortable saddle shape and 150mm post (you can run a fist's worth of post with ease), it's also totally practical. We have them in black Kevlar, with embroidered logos in either black, white, red, or blue stitching. Built light, to go fast.

Yo got back from france the otherday

the riding was amazing to watch out there
watching and riding with dave mirra was something else
when i got there i put my name down in pro that was quite a scary thing for me
was wating all day to ride the comp and dident get called out so had to ride the comp the next day nice and early
had a lot of fun in the comp got places 52 out of 100 i was well chuffed with that

The guys at Subrosa and Seventies have just given RADBMX Shop a World Exclusive to publish these production pics of the much rumored double top tube Subrosa frame.

We can exclusively reveal that it is going into production and will be called the Subrosa Pandora DTT (Ryan Sher Signature Frame).

The spec is still under embargo, but as soon as we have the nod, you'll read it here first.

Just got the new Verde Cartel Stem in stock - it was worth the wait! Lovely internal clamping system makes for a very neat stem with no nasty pinch bolts to catch your knees on. It comes in a range of colours. In stock now.

Also in today are the rest of the colours of the stunning Verde headset. It comes in a sick little clear plastic case and is available in all the normal Verde 09 colours. Again all in stock now.

And finally from Verde the Cartel Bar - a nice, light, heat-treat 8.25" rise bar with a lower crossbar than normal. Sticker pack included with each set to decal up as you please.

We will be getting our first batch of Shadow Consipracy Vultus Bars during the first week of January. These exciting new bars have a unique teardrop shaped cross bar and are available in 7.5", 8", 8.25" and 8.5" rise.

The 7.5 in. bars are 25 in. wide, all others are 28 in. wide. 10 degree backsweep and 3 degree upsweep.

Weight: 25.4 oz for 8.0 in. rise.
